Asheville, NC – Here is the schedule for City of Asheville Parks and Recreation Department events celebrating February as Black History Month! All events are free and the public is invited. On January 24, 2015 officers from the Asheville Police Department and community members will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. City announces interim APD Chief

The city of Asheville announced today that retired Santa Cruz, CA Police Chief Steve Belcher will serve as interim police chief for the Asheville Police Department while the city moves forward with a national search for Chief William Anderson’s successor.
