Nominate someone for Asheville Neighborhood Volunteer of the Year

volunteer-award

You know that person who always organizes neighborhood meetings, work days or holiday get togethers? How about getting her or him a little recognition?

The Neighborhood Advisory Committee is initiating an Asheville Neighborhood Volunteer of the Year Award.

The committee seeks to recognize and honor a city resident who has an exemplary record of volunteer service to neighborhoods. The individual will have demonstrated a significant and positive contribution toward the mission of your neighborhood association and/or commitment to strengthening city neighborhoods through volunteer time, talents and service.

A panel appointed by the Neighborhood Advisory Committee will review and evaluate nominations and select the recipient. The recipient will be recognized at an Asheville City Council meeting.

Please nominate an outstanding volunteer from your community by Jan. 5. To nominate someone, complete the application form on the Neighborhood Advisory Committee webpage and return it to City of Asheville Neighborhood Coordinator Marsha Stickford at mstickford@ashevillenc.gov. Or send it to her attention via U.S. mail at: P. O. Box 7148, Asheville, NC  28801.

About the Neighborhood Advisory Committee

The committee holds a public meeting in each of the City’s five geographic areas to identify issues affecting residents, receive neighborhood feedback, connect City staff with neighborhood organizations and inform neighborhoods of developments in their area.
